Beer Coasters Silence Of The Lambics Issue

To enter the mind of a fruit beer, we must challenge the mind of a Lambic.

This week on the Beer Coasters Podcast, we put the fava beans aside and pick up a glass of yet another fruit beer.  But, this is no ordinary fruit beer.  A centuries-old Belgian tradition of aging wild-fermented fruit ales, brings us to the modern day Lambic.  These slightly sour, very sweet, refreshing beers come in many fruits and flavors.  For our Fermentation Conversation, we visit the Lambic motherland, Belgium with the Kriek from Lindemans.  In our Hop Topic, we discuss AB's plan to trademark area codes.  In the middle of the country, Chris gets transported on Con Air from Belgium with Strawberry from Timmerman's.  Mike, along with Samuel Adams, puts the Barrel Room Collection American Kriek in the basket.  And finally, Toby strips off the straight jacket for a glass of Stumptown Tart by Bridgeport.

We really appreciate all the Backwash we've been getting lately - keep it coming!  Cheers!

Beer Coasters Brewberries Issue

No more fruity beers, please!  We know, we know.  This week on the Beer Coasters Podcast, we try out a few craft beers with berries in them.  We even try out a new service from Google that gets us closer to our listeners, Google+.  Trying to keep the berry beers at a minimum, we skip the Fermentation Conversation and go straight to Toby's beer, Raspberry Redemption from Joseph James.  While frolicking in a field, Chris picks a Berry Weiss from Leinenkugal's.  Mike hikes the Long Trail and comes in contact with a Blackbeary Wheat.

Thanks for tuning in this week and Hangout with us during future recordings on Google+.  Cheers!

Beer Coasters The Organic Issue

*This issue of The Beer Coasters Podcast is certified ORGANIC by the Podcasting Organic Department*

This week we slip on our Birkenstocks, wrap ourselves in hemp, drive our Prius down to Whole Foods and pick up some Organic craft beer.  Mike trades fairly with Wolaver's Alta Gracia Coffee Porter from Otter Creek.  Toby passes on the pesticides with Fish Brewing's Fish Tale Organic IPA.  Chris opens a grass-fed, hormone-free bottle of the OB-1 from Snake River.  All three Beer Coasters get to roam free in Green Lakes from Deschutes.

Toby is back at Aces And Ales, but this time he interviews Scott Wilkie, the Market Manager from Deschutes Brewing - part 1.  Scott has some interesting predictions for the American craft beer scene.

Stay tuned for some exciting things that you can be a part of.  Cheers!
